PURPOSE

1. The RS232/RS485 interface converter is designed for conversion of physical levels of logical signals of the interface RS232 to RS485 and vice versa.
The converter is used to organize the exchange of digital information via the RS485 trunk interface between industrial controllers and a PC with an RS232 user interface.
2. The converter has a mode enabled automatically to control the transmission of data flow from the RS232 interface and can be used in conjunction with a remote telephone modem at fixed exchange rates, and in auto-switching mode – fixed settings for different exchange rates – up to 7.
3. The transmitter is not a measuring instrument.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
1. The converter provides stable conversion for baud rates up to 38400 bps.
Maximum exchange rate up to 250 kbps without error correction.
2. The range of common-mode input voltages on lines A and B relative to C (RS485 interface) is from minus 7 V to plus 12 V.
3. The converter has protection against short circuits on all interface outputs.
4. Overall dimensions of the Converter do not exceed 155 x 170 x 60 mm.
5. The mass of the Converter does not exceed – 0.4 kg.
6. The service life of the controller is at least 12 years.
INSTALLATION & SERVICE
1. The RS232/RS485 interface converter is designed for operation outside hazardous areas indoors at ambient temperature from minus 40 to plus 60 °C.
2. Degree of protection against environmental actions marking IP30.
3. The company provides warranty service RS232/RS485 interface converter for 24 months and service service throughout the entire service life.
